Tree Removal Across Dublin, OH

Dublin sits on the northwest side of the Columbus metro, across Franklin, Delaware, Union and Madison counties. The Scioto River runs through it, and its tributaries cut deep ravines through the limestone bedrock, with steep banks in places. Most of the city is newer: 39 percent of its homes were built in 2000 or later and 28 percent in the 1990s, according to Census Bureau survey data. For pruning and the rest of what we do there, see tree service in Dublin, and the service areas page lists the other towns.

Tree Removal Reviews From A.S.H. Customers

A tree removal is done on your property, close to your house, by people you have only just met. Trust is the whole job. What A.S.H. customers write about comes back to the same three things: the crew turned up when it said it would, did the work that was agreed, and left the yard clean. Those are the things to look for in any review before you book tree removal in Dublin, ours included.

Eduardo was fantastic to work with. Quick to schedule and helpful by listening to what my goals and concerns were. I had a smaller project so he was able to squeeze me in the very next day after providing an estimate. Quality work that was reasonably priced.

The work crew knew what I wanted them to do. They showed up on time and started to work, checking with me to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. They did a great job with cleanup. Eduardo was a pleasant person and professional with his job.

I had reached out to get a quote after our Black Walnut Tree had some large branches break off in high winds. Ed made some recommendations and talked me through what branches he would remove. His team showed up on time and did a great job! Not only do our trees look great and healthy, but his team did a great job cleaning up the yard after.

Kept Trees on Newer Dublin Lots

Many of Dublin's newer, larger lots were laid out with mature trees kept on purpose: an oak or a walnut older than the street it now shades. A tree like that cannot be bought, only grown, and it is worth real money to the property. Where the tree is the best thing on the lot, the sensible answer is usually an inspection, a careful prune, sometimes a cable, and removal only when the tree has actually failed.

If your house is newer than its biggest tree, know this: damage to roots from construction does not show the year the house is built. A tree that had machinery parked over its roots, or grade changed around it, can decline five or ten years later, from the top down. When that decline reaches the main stems over the house, the tree has to come down.

Dublin Street Trees Are the City's

In Dublin, the City Forester and staff care for all street trees within the city limits. According to the city's Forestry division, city-owned trees are those growing in the public right-of-way, mostly in the strip between the street and the sidewalk, or about four feet off the curb where there is no sidewalk. The city asks residents not to prune tree lawn trees, and prunes them itself on a three- to five-year cycle.

So if the tree you are worried about stands along the street, start with the city's forestry staff. The trees on your side of the sidewalk are yours, and those are the ones we take down. We will tell you at the estimate where the line runs.

Trees on Ravine Edges Above the Scioto

Lots that back onto the ravines of the Scioto's tributaries have trees leaning out over steep banks toward the light. Soil on a slope stays wet after storms, and a leaning tree above a ravine can go over in one storm, taking the bank with it. Those trees are worth a look before they move.

Ravine-edge removals are rigging jobs. The truck stays on firm ground well back from the edge, a climber takes the tree apart, and each piece is lowered away from the slope and carried up. Sometimes the right answer is to take only the part leaning toward the house and leave the rest to hold the bank. We will tell you which.

Split Pears and Storm Damage

The newer plantings in Dublin have their own habits. Ornamental pears split at their tight forks in wind, often just as they reach full size, and a split pear rarely recovers. Storms bring those failures out: on August 11, 2026, the National Weather Service measured an 82 mph gust at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

A tree that has already split is taken down from the hanging pieces first, then the standing half. If a tree is on your house, call 614-701-0806 rather than use the form, and we will give you an honest time. See storm damage tree removal.

What Tree Removal in Dublin Costs

The price of a tree removal in Dublin comes from the tree and what is around it: its size, what is underneath, whether it stands near a ravine edge or a structure, how much rope work it takes, and how much cleanup you want. Keeping a good tree with pruning usually costs a fraction of removing it, which is why we look first. The estimate is free and the price is written. For how pricing works, see what tree removal costs. Nearby, we also do tree removal in Worthington, Columbus and Grove City.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns the tree between the sidewalk and the street in Dublin?

The city. Dublin's city-owned trees are those in the public right-of-way, mostly in the tree lawn, and the city asks residents not to prune them. Contact its forestry staff about a street tree.

My big tree is older than my house. Should it come down?

Not because of age. If it is thinning from the top, ask whether the roots were disturbed when the house went in. Sometimes pruning helps; sometimes it is past saving. We tell you which on the free visit.

A tree on my ravine edge is leaning more than it used to. Is it urgent?

A new or growing lean on a slope means the roots may be letting go. Book a look soon, before a wet spring or a storm. Sometimes only part of the tree needs to come down.

Dublin is the far side of the metro. Will you come?

Yes. We plan Dublin visits ahead, and the window you book is the window we arrive in.

Is stump grinding included?

It is quoted as a separate line at the same visit. See stump grinding.

Where can I find Dublin's own rules on trees?

The City of Dublin publishes its forestry and street tree rules. For trees on your own lot, call us for a free estimate.
